This is actually a good analogy. Telling an alcoholic they’re an alcoholic isn’t helpful; just illicit a defense response. They have to want to change. That’s the reason the first step is that they have to admit they’re powerless over alcohol.

Purely anecdotal; I feel like the only people I see with this take are people for whom the current system is beneficial. Why would someone being crushed under the heel of pre-revolutionary France levels of income disparity want to fight to prolong that system?

I represented 2 (unrelated) cases of USCs who were removed and one who was in proceedings. This was in 2013-14 under the Obama admin. This stuff, while reprehensible, isn’t new or unique to a party.
