Charlie Kirk and I disagreed on almost everything political but I am saddened by his death. Violence isn't how we solve political disagreements in this country.
My heart goes out to his family and I hope his death can serve a greater purpose to bring people together and help us find common ground.

The big bloated bill is going to hurt rural America. The cuts to snap benefits, healthcare, and renewable energy projects will take money out of rural America's pocket to fund billionaires. It's time to elect people to Congress who understand the struggles that rural America faces on a daily basis.

@parkroseperma.bsky.social shared a great video on YouTube about the terrible conditions in ICE facilities. This is coming to MI-02 with GEO opening a camp near Baldwin. For profit prisons need to be eliminated. All humans deserve safe living conditions. Especially children ripped from their homes.

We spent the weekend campaigning at Pride events. The typical MAGA comments in my TikTok feed referenced veterans month so I'm taking the opportunity to talk about how LGBTQ+ veterans deserve excellent care no matter how they identify despite MAGA's best efforts to the contrary.

LGBTQ+ Rights are Human Rights. It's really that simple. Everyone deserves the right to marry and make healthcare decisions without religious extremism getting in the way.

In its latest attack on transgender folxs MAGA is ending the option to connect with an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor when calling the 988 crisis number. Remember MAGA thinks the dead queer people is a feature not a bug. After they come for us they'll come for you.

I’m sure I’m using too much common sense here but it seems like the first step towards discriminating is removing the policy that prevents discrimination.

It was a long day at the No Kings rally/protest at Michigan's Capitol but nobody got hurt or arrested so it was a good day. A peaceful crowd of +8k democracy supporters and about 8 maga supporters.
It was my first time speaking to a crowd of that size but hopefully not my last.

The protest wagon is loaded and ready to roll. Stand for democracy today. Find a local protest and tell the MAGA bullies in Washington that we the American people have had enough. Show up with your neighbors and build a community based on helping each other and doing the right thing.

Do you want to live rent free in the MAGA brain then show up to a 6/14 protest somewhere. Prove that fear tactics won’t keep the American people from exercising their rights. The most dangerous thing we can do right now is stay home cause that proves the threat of violence will break our spirt.

A little slow getting this post up but I had a great weekend with @lgomi.bsky.social teaching responsible ownership and safe use of firearms to a great group of people. Shooting sports and firearm ownership isn’t only for people of rightward political persuasion. Education is key to safe ownership.

The regressive anti-trans policies pushed by this administration serve no purpose other than to harm individual trans service members and degrade our military readiness. Service members should be judged on their ability not on their gender identity.
