A lot of my poems are pretty depressing, but remember when I was growing up — the 50’s and 60’s. When I was born the word ‘transsexual’ didn’t exist, let alone ‘transgender’. These poems are from *my* life, not *yours*, though, I admit, things are looking grim.
I go where I love and where I am loved,
into the snow;
I go to the things I love
with no thought of duty or pity

No 1. took SIX YEARS to get 39,500 signatures.
No 2. took just 10 weeks to get 40,000 signatures
Now tell me transphobia is more popular than trans people’s human rights.

Been going through my old poems and putting them up on a website. Just getting started, really, but found this one: elbethe.net/Awakening/. With all the distractions headed our way, I kind of lost lock on what to do. This reminded me.

Following the attempted murder of a trans woman. Cops just let the alleged perp go. So actionists from the Mexican sex workers union stormed the judicial building.

This is going to get me in trouble, I know it is, but I am sick unto death of cis-people driving the conversation about trans-kids and gender affirming care. I am sick of the lies, of the refusal of so many cis-people to even listen to us. Especially the ones making the laws.
Fuck cis-people who think they know what’s best for us.
Fuck cis-people who think they know what’s best for us.
Whitewash
“Investigate the harms of gender affirming care”.
This tells me all I need to know.
That you have already
reached your conclusion
and will now seek to justify it.
No matter how much
you have to cook the data.
It is nothing more than
whitewash for your bigotry.
Surgery was a Resurrection.
A chance to walk in the sun,
after decades in darkness,
and to find that the mirror
was no longer my enemy.
The closet is a coffin.
A place where the soul screams
and the heart claws at the lid,
begging for the acceptance
that you take for granted.
