I mean, given that most of them are Catholic and Evangelical, are any of us actually surprised that #MAGAs don't actually care that much about child SA?

One kind of annoying thing I've noticed about the online #readingcommunity is they only read new #books. Of course, there's nothing wrong with new books, but if you really want consistent high quality, you have to branch out beyond stuff published in the last ten years.

Many in the #bookcommunity love to dunk on #audiobooks, but I bet I speak for tons of my fellow hyperphantasia peeps when I say I prefer them. When you're reading, it's harder to visualize the beats. It's possible, but it takes more effort when you're simultaneously processing words on a page.

Hey! What do ya know! When Democrats put up candidates under 80 with intact backbones, they actually win. Who woulda thunk it?

Remember when everyone was mad because Obama didn't wear a jacket in the Oval Office that one time, and that was scandalously disrespectful of the White House?

This is interesting. Maybe this is why I always listen to my second language at like twice the volume of my first language.
Your perception of loudness bends to what you know, according to fascinating new psychology research
A new study finds that people hear familiar words as louder than nonsense words, even when both are equally loud. The results suggest that our brains rely on language knowledge to shape how we perceiv...

So it's all #statesrights when it comes to states wanting to force women into reproductive slavery, but it's just fine for the federal government to barrel in and tell states they DON'T have the right to stop zealot parents and “counselors” from abusing their #queer kids? Am I getting that right?
Supreme Court skeptical of state bans on conversion therapy aimed at LGBTQ kids
The court heard arguments in a case brought by Kaley Chiles, a Christian talk therapist in Colorado, who argues that the state's ban violates her First Amendment rights.

It's sad but true that the publishing industry has always been about making money but is now so obsessed with turning a profit that authors rarely get the chance to build careers.

To all the MAGA voters who FAAFOed and are now begging for empathy, here's a little dose of reality. There comes a point where individuals are so overwhelmed with unreciprocated empathy that a total overload occurs and they lose the ability to feel empathy at all +

Those of us who actually never supported #MAGA need to start keeping our receipts right now because in ten years, *everyone* is going to be saying they "never" "supported" #Trump.

So #Comey has been indicted on Trumped up charges (hehe). On the one hand, of course, Donny weaponizing the #DOJ for petty vengeance is just peak weak tyrant, but on the other hand, if the fear of going to prison happens to make #Democrats finally grow a spine, that would be pretty nice 🙂

It isn't a coincidence they're attacking medicines that can make pregnancy more comfortable and tolerable for women. Christians have been doing whatever they can to amplify the “curse” their deity inflicted upon women in the original Abrahamic creation myth+

The irony here is the right has spent years howling about “cancel culture,” and honestly, I can't stand it in most contexts either. But the difference between them and me seems to be that I actually hate cancel culture, whereas they have a more “cancel culture for me but not for thee” type attitude.

OMG I'm so annoyed with #Dune. I mean, I know it was written 60 years ago, but is this really how these guys think of women? Do we only exist in their minds to be in awe of them and think about them 24/7? Was this just the prevailing mentality? Did they ever actually know a woman?

Don't judge me, but I'm reading Dune for the first time, after a long hiatus from reading works by white, English-speaking men (this is important). I try not to filter books through my intersectional feminist lens, but I gotta say . . .

What do y'all think about this topic? Do you write for your readers or for yourself?

Do you think it's more effective to let your authenticity shine through or tailor your writing to what your audience seems to want?

Can we please lay off the #Christian persecution narrative with this latest #massshooting? Catholics are not hated in the US because they're Christian. They're hated by a certain subset of Americans because they're perceived as non-white. Used to be Irish and Italians. Now it's Latin Americans.
