I also absolutely hate majority governments. I think that they are some of the most undemocratic governments that exist. Because it’s giving one party the right to do whatever the hell they want with no oversight. You’re essentially allowing them to be a monarch in all but name.
Personally, I'm not stoked about the idea of a Liberal majority.

Minority governments are better for democracy (despite the instability) because they require compromise and collaboration.

With a majority, CEO Carney would be in full effect.
Dimitri Soudas, former Harper comms guy, told RadCan this morning that he's hearing Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux will cross the floor to the Liberals today.

If this happens, the Liberals are one seat short of a majority. You know what that means.

That's right.

Elizabeth May is Kingmaker.

Most of the trees have shed their leaves. It’s almost winter and yet it’s 17 degrees :/

Anyway I watched my partner do a stand up set and he did great. (imo the best of them since it didn’t focus on tired jokes about bisexuals and threesomes)

Genuinely feels like something has broken. My normally chill safe spaces like the embroidery subreddit piled on someone excited about something just because they don’t that particular subject. What happened to down voting and moving on??

I can’t keep up with it all. Just doing my best while also caring for a 90 year old (who thankfully is still quite independent) and trying to fix up this house that she poured her heart and soul into

Just… so frustrated with narcissistic boomers that only care about themselves. Yes this could apply to pretty much any of them. Yes I’m subtweeting my family. No they’re not on here. Sometimes it’s good to yell into the void

If you haven’t been paying attention to the EA takeover because you’re not a gamer, here’s why it should concern you anyway.

2 out of 3 people in the US play video games —and right-wingers are gearing up to control their content.

Their messaging, their propaganda. Coming to a console near you.

Hey fellow non indigenous Canadians. Tomorrow is truth and reconciliation day here. Let’s not ask our indigenous friends to do emotional labour for us to educate us. There’s so much available from free courses to books to events throughout the year. Reconciliation is ongoing. It’s hard but worth it

Set up coffee on the patio for my grandmother and her friends this morning. Glad I can do the little things like this for her 🥹

Community is helping your neighbour pick up their car on a Friday and them helping you go on a wild ass adventure for a table and benches for your patio on a Sunday. And during the ride both discovering that you’re both a little anarchist at heart but want to help your respective neighbours

Genuinely can we go back to non hd films?? I think they translate better on a screen and are way easier on my eyes ☠️😑

My closest town just had an Indian restaurant open up. Which for very “new Scotland started here” Pictou county, is a massive upgrade.

Genuinely excited for more food options that aren’t brown sauce pizza and fish and chips

I forget that boomers use waaaay more water for their lawns and crap. They issued a water warning for NS and all their suggestions I already do.. mostly out of laziness. I can’t be arsed if our lawn dies and I don’t care if my driveway or deck is dusty 😅

Sometimes I think about the fact that I’m probably in someone’s data set somehow with my social media and how we look at digital data now is our chance to preserve a semblance of what folks are thinking down the road

Reposting this thread b/c it's Canada Day and we could all use a little self-awareness in our patriotism today.

There's lots to celebrate about Canada.
There's also lots that's absolutely not worth celebrating (which we must in fact reconcile).
Choose 20 Canadian paintings that have stayed with you or influenced you - one Canadian painting per day for 20 days, in no particular order.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with criticizing the liberal government or the current PM.

If we want to turn into the USA, we can continue with the status quo.

If we don't criticize a government and hold them accountable, we have become complacent, lazy, and comfortable.

The older I get the more I realise we are living a reality that’s more like MTAnderson’s feed than not. And that just makes me so sad. 😔
