Lottie loves playing mother to Libby we knew keeping these two together would make it harder to rehome them, with Lotties heath issues but when you see them together you can understand why we did it we just need someone to give them a chance, they are a wonderful pair who #foreverhomes

Peggy sleeps throughout the night, is clean in the house. Peggy is a very sociable dog, loves every dog she meets. She would love a young playmate but is living as a single dog at the moment. Maxwell available for adoption Meet Maxwell, usually known as Max (or Maxi, Maxi-Paxi, Maxi-Moo, or Mr Moo). He’s been with us since October 2024 and is a Spanish Mastiff of impressive proportions at around 60kg and 35 inches to the shoulder, but in his heart he’s an honorary lurcher and a devoted lap dog. At home he’s calm, cuddly, crate trained, happy in the car, and loves nothing more than a sofa and a good tummy rub. He lives happily with one other dog, is social with dogs, not cat friendly, and is wonderful with children, including a 10-month-old baby and a 15-year-old who is firmly his best mate. Lead walking is still a work in progress, but he’s making steady improvements, and his recall is just starting to click in secure fields, which is a huge milestone for him. He loves a run in a safe space, will need a secure 6ft-fenced garden, and an experienced home that understands big, independent breeds. Bring patience, kindness, and plenty of cheese, and Max will give you his whole heart. Www.lurcher.org.uk

Can anyone help with Puppy Pads please? We're getting very low and with new dogs coming in some as yet to be house trained before rehoming, some of our long term dogs are incontinent, we can literally use hundreds in any given week,

*****Foster home or adoption***** Lovely Queenie needs your help, she has spent the last few weeks in a wonderful foster home but sadly she is not able to stay there after February, normally this wouldn’t be an issue as we would just move her to another foster home but unfortunately Queenie isn’t happy to be around other dogs at the moment so we are looking for a dog free foster home or a forever home. Queenie is amazing in so many ways, she is fully house trained can be left for a couple of hours good in the car and non destructive. What Queenie doesn’t like is seeing other dogs out and about so she is looking for a home where she won’t be walked in an area with a high number of dogs at the moment while she continues her training. She is very responsive and wants to please her foster day but this is still a work in progress and being that she is a 30kg dog she needs someone who can handle her and continue her training. If you would like more information on her then please give us a call.

****Update on Claus**** Last Friday, Claus went in for what we believed would be a routine cruciate ligament repair. Unfortunately, we were unaware of the true extent of the damage to his poor knee. Once the surgeons opened his leg, they discovered that his knee was surrounded by infected fluid and that there was a severe bone infection, which had eaten away at the knee joint and left a hole. We knew Claus hadn’t been using the leg for some time due to significant muscle wastage, but the extent of the damage came as a shock to us all. The level of infection and joint destruction meant that repair was impossible, and it was clear that Claus had been suffering for a very long time — this would have been extremely painful. After consulting with the veterinary team, the difficult decision was made to amputate his leg. We know this may sound extreme, but sadly, there was no other option. As you know, Claus already struggled with a high level of anxiety when he arrived, and such a major operation understandably made things harder for him. Friday night was especially tough, and he needed a return trip to the vets on Saturday morning to adjust his medication and ensure he was as comfortable as possible. Thankfully, this has helped significantly, and he is becoming more comfortable and settled each day. Claus is now up and walking and has even enjoyed a short walk in the snow. He is eating and drinking well, enjoying the company of the other dogs in his foster home, and his foster mom hasn’t left his side. Despite everything he has been through, Claus has remained a truly sweet and loving boy who enjoys bum scratches and cuddles. Mr. Claus still has a journey ahead in his recovery, both physically and mentally, but we will do everything we can to help this sweet boy heal.
