Maybe against my better judgment, but this AI Overview gives me a little more hope for a healthier ecosystem: AIO not on the 1st position + with links incorporated in the answer.

If your website ranks # 1 in Google’s traditional results (blue links), you have a 25% chance of being used as a source in AI Overviews.

SEO still matters for AI Search engines
SEO still matters for AI Search engines  - ZipTie
You’ve probably seen countless posts declaring “SEO is dead” thanks to AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews.  Instead of joining the doom-and-gloom chorus, I decided…

To my understanding, this is how LLMs work. Confronted with something outside of their training data (eg. nonsense phrases), the systems try to find a pattern and generate a plausible explanation.

This clearly shows LLMs don't have common sense.

Love these kind of studies and insights 👌🏻

There seems to be a 130-Day Rule with Google crawling and indexing: if a page is not crawled in the last 130 days, chances are high it will be removed from the index.

Makes sense to me.
