Anyone else feel this way?
Every global economy runs on the same basic engine:
1. People want things.
2. People lie about what they want.
3. Someone writes a book about the wreckage.
I’m definitely step 3.

I have obviously sworn so many times when I’m dictating notes, that when I say the word “flux”—which I say a lot in the novel I’m currently writing—my Mac automatically translates it to “fuck.”

I once nearly drove Val Kilmer over a cliff, driving him to ADR for the Doors because his house in HW Hills—the dirt drive was barely wide enough for a car. We survived. Whenever he was in LA, he’d call me to get together to talk ideas. He was weird. Intense. And very funny. RIP, Val.

When Gene Hackman was developing his hilarious character for Get Shorty, he was channeling his (and my) business manager, Edgar Gross. Look. Teeth. Some mannerisms. Edgar’s pic is from ~12 years after Get Shorty. Hackman was a deadringer for Edgar in 1995.

I think we should require ALL criminals to self-report (or face prosecution). I can’t imagine why we haven’t thought of this before.
