Virginia photographer with penchant for chasing large storms out west. Infosec/IT. Friend to animals who believes music makes everything better.
Enjoyed the heck out of watching Live Aid again yesterday as I did in 1985. Watched a number of YouTubers reminiscing about similar experiences but they were all old. Weird.

Great to see Quincy on Bluesky.
I’m trying to eventually transition to here from X. Thank you for the new followers and the interactions. Here’s another photo of tonight’s tornado in Floyd, NM.

A couple things in the plains reminded me of a Virginia gone by: people still hold doors for you and stores don’t have everything on lock down.

Met some Twitter weather folks I’d followed for years in OK yesterday. The conversations were better than the storms.

Train and signals up again next to derailed cars just outside Greensburg, KS.

In addition to the tornadopalooza this year, chasecation has been a great opportunity to have only small doses of terrible news every day online.

Twice this year, I’ve left to head home only to see a good setup within range. Wish May could last forever. It’s a good set of problems to have.

It’ll be interesting to see more footage from yesterday. This was taken at 5:16 near Merino, before it crossed 76. It was ramping up for a good long while before condensate went to ground.

Took a detour to get away from the conga line near Akron, CO but still got something!

Is Colorado ever not picturesque?

Second lucky day? Seems a bit like 2016 anyway. Why not?

Need to look into whether Casey’s wants franchises in Virginia.

Forgot how much fun taking backroads out here is. What contrast with the east coast — not someone waiting to honk behind you at every stop sign.

Maybe the only time of year and place to see a group huddle in the hotel lobby discussing dryline nuances over breakfast.

Days like today make me wonder how I couldn’t have chased the Plains for 4 years. Just 1 good day changes a lot.

As effortless a chase as Dodge City was. Thank you, Kansas. As ever. Phone quality video.

Got the tornado but a dog was loose and had to find the owners!
