Edinburgh Poppies - in WW1 Scotland lost 1 in 10 males aged 16-55 with 147,000 souls giving their lives. Every man & woman's name is inscribed in Rolls of Honour in a Casket on marble plinth in the Shrine at the Scottish National War Memorial inside Edinburgh Castle.

Their name liveth for evermore.

Not for the 5th of November, but for Victoria Day, Edinburgh's discretionary local public holiday, traditionally held on the last Monday in May on or before her birthday on the 24th.

Over five centuries ago, Edinburgh saw its very first fireworks display.

In 1507, James IV – an explosives enthusiast – staged the city’s earliest recorded fireworks on what is now King’s Stables Road.
