getting unsolicited credit card offers from companies i've never done business with is annoying. getting them from a company i already have credit cards with is infuriating. why won't you just increase the limit on the one i already have??

went down the weights and measures rabbit hole because half the trash bins on the US market are measured in Bushels, which is apparently equivalent to 4 US pecks. or 1 and 21121/86400 cubic feet. i'd say #AnythingButMetric 🦅🇺🇸🏈 but the British are responsible for the Bushel. and the Corn Gallon.

i had to wear second hand clothes when i was a kid but i always had my own mattress. seeing people in neighborhood groups take mattresses from strangers so their kids don't have to sleep on the floor, and i'm humbled. we can do better in this country.

the more i learn about colonialism the more shocked i am that the rest of the world just tolerates a handful of countries sitting in and putting their feet up on someone else's assigned seats.

my desire to gather wealth and resources isn't rotted in rugged individualism, it's from knowing that my country will completely abandon me to the elements if i don't hoard enough to get through hard times. i would much rather build a community than a 401k.

the thing about chatbots is that AI just stands for Artificial Internet-rando.
if you ask for advice on reddit and some random internet person tells you to put glue on your pizza, you should really question that advice. same goes for what the chatbot suggests.

i get discouraged because the only way on this planet to leave an indelible mark is to create value beyond yourself, and that feels overwhelming.
money can be spent. property can be broken. even memories can be stolen through disease.
service and creation for the benefit of others persists.

the thing is we treat society like dinner. some cultures have a shared pot everyone eats from. some cultures welcome sampling each other's plate.
then there's the western way where we only eat from our own plate and act like sharing would spread disease.
