The silver bullet for the rise of the far right in the UK is combating wealth inequality and returning British assets to British workers. Discussions about influencers are deflecting. To move people away from the radical right we simply must improve living standards.

(1/4) Religion has always been a political institution, for what is more political than the institution upon which modern society has been built upon. Anyone saying to the contrary is not acknowledging the historic context of the church.

Happy retirement to Mick Lynch who brought union politics and values into the mainstream in a way unparalleled in my lifetime. An incredible orator who was effective on screen and at rallies who often outwitted journalists with his common sense and direct approach!

Great day at Labour NW conference for the first time. Thanks to my friends in Chester North and Neston for sending me as a delegate and giving me the opportunity to hear from Angela Rayner and Lisa Nandy as well as others. The future for the north west is hopeful!
