There's a lot of talk about the need to reduce waste in healthcare.

Our teams are doing more than talking. Read about one effort to reduce unneeded pre-surgery testing, which succeeded so well it's now being rolled out to hospitals statewide: michmed.org/MyGjq
How can we cut wasteful pre-surgery testing?
Pre-operative tests in low-risk surgical patients dropped sharply, and safely, after a quality improvement effort aimed at reducing inappropriate care.
