I agree with @scott.hanselman.com that Urls are part of the UI, which I why I don't like how LinkedIn mangles urls.

The art of refactoring legacy code is an interesting and challenging intellectual exercise that I suspect many software engineers enjoy.

Expressing the logic by fewer lines of code, well-named methods and the occasional hidden domain object that you "discovered" in the process, feels great!
