These data provide a valuable baseline for understanding the vertical and spatial variability of peat chemistry in fire-impacted tropical peatlands.

A dimensional analysis is used to identify functional relationships between organism abundance and energy, body size, and ecological interactions. The most parsimonious result is consistent with an exponent of −1 for the scaling relationship between abundance and body size. Other values can be obtained by considering life history and other ecological interactions.
