Amsterdam Trancecore, or if caffeine were music. I remember when Michel Klaassen sent me the promo of this in 1997. It was next level. During their live acts they'd bring out an amputee actor with a fake leg filled with blood and cut it off with a circular saw. Fun.

What a lackluster and mainstream attempt by a director who was notorious for making people squirm. Boring, derivative and forgettable. The extras contain deleted scenes. This whole thing should be deleted... Bah.

Great film on every level. Emotionally impactful and a masterclass in editing. Mendes has been one of my favorite directors since his debut and he hasn't let me down yet.

One of these days I will have to make a bottom five list of the worst movies that I own, and this'll be on it. It's not unintentionally funny, it's not hinting at some hidden talent, making you go "if only they had a better budget"; it's just shit.

A really funny dark comedy. Probably didn't do so well commercially because it doesn't have a clear cut protagonist. It doesn't have one at all. Everyone is selfish, pretending to be better than they are and pushing an agenda. Nice to see Black not yelling all the time.

The movie was slightly entertaining, but a dated, boring cliché. This book, however, shows in detail how cool the props are. You barely really see any of the stuff in the movie, but they still have such detailed designs. I wish they put in as much work when writing the script...

Thanks to being an HBO production, this show was darker, gorier and showed more skin than its network counterparts. It also came with less episodes per season. Unfortunately there only seems to be this enormous DVD box release of it, without hope of an upgrade.
