Earlier today, FDNY responded to multiple manhole fires on W 21st Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue. The incident has been placed under control, with no reported injuries, and emergency units are clearing the scene.

Con Edison crews have isolated affected equipment and are making repairs.

Update on the crane emergency 1717 Broadway near W54th St. The emergency response has concluded, NYC Department of Buildings has determined there are no safety issues with the crane. All reported street closures have been lifted, & monitoring by the response teams has concluded.

House Republicans refused to even allow a vote to stop ACA premium spikes. So a discharge petition just hit 218 and will force a House vote on a clean, 3-year extension of ACA tax credits.

Families shouldn’t pay more because Mike Johnson wants to play games with health care.

Forecasts call for precipitation beginning Saturday evening, continuing Sunday, with heaviest bands of snow likely to occur early Sunday morning; forecasts anticipate 1 to 3 inches of snow.
