A little bit of variety is good for us all, which is why protecting one brutalist building amongst the Georgian splendour of Bath is a good idea.
Georgian Bath? How about Brutalist Bath!

Sign the petition to save the fabulous little Church of the Good Shepherd in Batheaston (1966-67) from demolition, and allow the local community to buy it instead.

Patti Smith can write…

“I felt a gravitational force; my being truly shaken, kindling my desire for the One, the better savage. Fate had touched us; I knew at that moment he was the one I would marry.”

My favourite portrait photographer, Jane Bown, has an exhibition in Sussex. I love how she used to carry her one camera in a wicker basket, used natural light (with occasional help from an anglepoise lamp) and had an instinctive ability to get the photo she wanted.

These zines were the prompt for our recent BRUTAL Bristol exhibition. Buy them while you can!

More people visited than we hoped and our 4 walks sold out demonstrating how many people are interested in the city’s post-war architecture.
Back in stock for a limited time. After a very successful exhibition of BRUTAL Bristol I have decided to run a few more zines for those that missed out 👇

My pals @tom8enjamin.bsky.social and @eberlin.co.uk are putting on an exhibition about brutalist buildings in Bristol next week. I wrote a couple of things to help promote it, including this piece about brutalist car parks.

'Fascinating textures and abstract forms make car parks so interesting'
Multi-storey car parks might not seem exciting at first glance but they're often striking examples of bold brutalist architecture
