Knowing police services are in the top 3 least important priorities in the city's budget consultation, my guess is that police funding will go up.
The city ran a bunch of consultations on the budget, as the city is wont to do.

Popular services to fund were affordable housing/shelters, transit, and traffic improvements.

Least important? Festivals, police, and... animals? Harsh.

When I first read this, I was shocked at how riveted I was through this extensive story. So rare for such gripping and lengthy writing nowadays.
The commander of Apollo 13, James Lovell, died Thursday at the age of 97. In 1972, Henry S. F. Cooper, Jr. wrote about how Lovell’s crew got lost on its way to the moon—then made it back.
Apollo 13: An Accident in Space
Henry S. F. Cooper, Jr.,’s 1972 chronicle of the Apollo 13 mission, during which three astronauts were almost lost in space.
