State Representative MI District 26 🌹, Teacher, Education and Union Activist, #RedForEd Organizer.
The moment our Resolution was formally read into the Michigan House.

For more than two years, the world has watched a livestreamed genocide. What makes that possible is American-supplied weapons.

Michigan taxpayers have contributed over $420 million to the genocide since 2023.

If you are wondering how the Republican controlled Michigan House Oversight is going today.

Rep. Jaime Thompson is testifying arguing that LGBTQIA+ students are not being bullied at school. Yet kids are instead bullied for being "pretty".

While this “deal” is being announced, I want to make it clear that there are 149 people that get to make this decision not 3.

We haven't been provided the details.

I look forward to analyzing the budget once it is provided to us.

Standing in solidarity with the Michigan Education Association and AFT Michigan demanding that schools are fully funded and the budget is passed on time!

We need to invest in public education not make cuts.

Our government helps fund Israel’s genocide in Gaza. This is immoral & illegal. Electeds & orgs must send a message to MI’s Senators and Reps: demand no more weapons for Israel, allow aid in Gaza, and restore visas for Palestinians.

$40 Billion to one company.

$6.24 Billion in state tax breaks.
$18 Billion in local tax breaks.
$16 Billion in federal tax breaks.

With the State portion alone we could buy the Detroit Lions.

We don't have enough money for clean water, fully funded schools, or drivable roads.

Yet Michigan’s economic development office offered more than $6 BILLION in corporate handouts to ONE single company, and yet Sandisk still didn't come.

Duggan does not have our interests at heart. Just look to his donors.

“A Metro Times analysis of Duggan’s fundraising shows a sizable share comes from donors of President Donald Trump, GOP party leaders, and conservative power brokers with vested interests in state policy.”

Federal Republicans just gave one of the largest tax cuts to the rich in US History.

Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the MEDC offered over $6 BILLION to a single corporation.

This is Oligarchy.

Today, Trump’s bill passed the Senate. If it passes in the House it would cut $930B from Medicaid over the next decade. This bill also makes major cuts to SNAP (food stamp) benefits. We are in the middle of budget season in Lansing. (1/2)

The question everyone needs to be asking themselves is:

Should presidents alone have the power to enter us into war?

The answer is no. Trump just took an illegal action. It cannot stand.
June 22, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Our fascist president taking an illegal act of war without congressional approval. We have to condemn this.

Do we still live in a congressional republic?

The American people do not want to be dragged into another endless war.

Just saw a pro War, pro Trump, and pro Netanyahu TV advertisement funded by AIPAC.

Don’t fall for it. No war with Iran.

Let what happened today sink in. We have to recognize that we now live under a fascist and authoritarian regime. We have to push back. See you Saturday.
Tragically, the outrageous assault of Sen. Padilla today is becoming normal behavior for a Trump administration which is moving us toward authoritarianism.

The American people do not like petty tyrants. We defeated King George in 1776. We will defeat King Donald.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.
