Husband made French toast for breakfast. Vegetable white bean stew is going in the crock pot for dinner. I’m going to bake some gingerbread muffins. At least we’ll eat well during this storm.

We had a part on the water dispenser on our refrigerator replaced in November. The water stopped working again this week. Repair guy came out today and tested it and it was working. Luckily he didn't charge us anything because we're stupid, and my husband just figured out why I stopped working.

Apparently we're actually getting a real snow day on Monday, which is shocking since one of the two universities we work with is doing some remote work/classes. Here's hoping I'm not sitting in the cold and dark and actually get to enjoy it.

My Instagram algorithm has learned that I only want to see posts about Heated Rivalry. My Facebook algorithm on the other hand has decided that because I've been looking at Baltimore weather posts that I probably want to see weather posts no matter where they come from. Good job Facebook.

I know the cold in Baltimore is not anything compared to the cold in the upper midwest right now, but it's still going to be pretty darn cold. I remember back in the fall when I was told my all the long range forecasts that we were going to have a warm winter. Where is my warm winter! Liars!

I do not like forecasters warning me that my power could go out for days especially with how cold it’s going to be. Definitely kicking up the furnace to make the house be warmer than normal as a starting point just in case.

The grocery store was worse than the day before Thanksgiving

The universe does not want me to go to the orthodontist. Had to cancel an appointment for a work conflict. Had to cancel rescheduled appointment because I was sick. Now had to reschedule Monday's appointment for snow. Will I make it this time?

When it gets to the point where I have to mute the number five, I should just get off of this site

Making a grocery list and trying to balance wanting to have enough food if we can't get to the store for a while vs. not buying a bunch of food that will go bad if we lose power for an extended period of time

My instagram ads have now turned into companies who I can pay to help me obtain citizenship in other countries. Wonder why that could be?

Good thing we're not going all in on some stupid technology that guzzles water
The world has entered a new era of ‘water bankruptcy,’ U.N. report says
Researchers say this is not merely a temporary crisis, but a permanent failure that requires rethinking the world’s approach to water scarcity.

Thanks to @wxpnfm.bsky.social I am reminded of the song "Mother, Mother" by Tracy Bonham. The part of the song where she is absolutely screaming the lyrics "I'm losing my mind, everything's fine" pretty much sums up where I am right now.

It's so cold out this morning that the old guy out for his morning walk who waves to me every morning as I drive by him was wearing actual pants instead of the kilt he's usually in

Although the Gorge is on my concert venue bucket list, I feel like it would be easier and probably cheaper to go see Brandi Carlile in London than at the Gorge. I'm not into camping and nearby hotels are limited. The Holiday Inn Express is currently $740 a night for that weeknd. Holiday Inn Express!

So Tori Amos is going on tour and Bartees Strange is opening for her. She's originally from Baltimore. He lives in Baltimore now. And yet there is no Baltimore date. The closest show is at Wolf Trap, which I adore, but I call foul.

Heading into the new year I was telling some friends that it was the first time I could remember not feeling some sense of hope for the new year. I was convinced that 2026 was going to be more awful than an already terrible 2025. So far it is not proving me wrong.

My self-esteem is too low to ever post of any of those 1 like = 1 thing posts. I'm too afraid I wouldn't get any likes.

My husband broke a compressed catnip ball and let Loki eat some of it. He has been high as a kite and being completely psycho for the past several hours. He put on quite the show for my book club.

Ugh I accidentally updated my iOS to stupid Liquid Glass and it is just as awful as everyone has been complaining about

I really should have not opened up the internet this morning. That 10 minutes of meditation beforehand was no match for the anxiety it has ratcheted up in me.
