Most cowslips are a vibrant yellow but other varieties do exist which are tinged with dark oranges and reds. Others still have become hybridised with pollen from other plants. They're all still magnificent and there's only a week or so left to see them in St John's' churchyard.

All churches have critters but a church wouldn't be complete without a mouse (or two). There are just enough left with wicks to make the Tenebrae service for Maundy Thursday possible by candlelight! Do come along at 7.30pm if you would like to be part of it.

The nave's scissor brace roof was once hidden from view by a ceiling, but that has long sinced collapsed. Now that the beams are revealed you can see the simple and yet beautiful way the roof is supported in all its glory.
