1) the piece itself, which I think there are valid criticisms of, but which still leaves me very empathetic to the the freelancers

One more thing before I’m offline: there is an element of race involved in the PCG/SJC situation that cannot be overlooked. As a white employer contracting with POC, you have a responsibility of care in communication and actions that demands awareness of how whiteness is impacting the situation.
