I like the official model and how it adapts a general marine role to the way black templars work, but I already had a bladeguard ancient body spare, and making the giant crusade shield seemed like it'd be fun

frame and pose test for scorch, still a lot of rough temporary assembly, but I'd say it's good enough to go ahead with and start the serious building now

next shield test, coloured with ink and contrasts, better but could still be a bit more intense. What I thought was resin not fully set was just some residue that needed wiping with alcohol, but that does leave it a duller
Might try a gloss coat and also resin on the edges next

To go along with my execrator, I'm making the other new BT unit it released alongside, a crusade ancient
The official model is great, but I didn't pick one up as I had most of a bladeguard ancient spare from my dreadnought, and I figured the standard would be easy enough to make
