Trump announced he wants to declassify all U.S. government files related to the disappearance of pilot Amelia Earhart. He called the case “an incredible story that has fascinated millions” and said Americans deserve to see whatever records remain. The truth is this “fascinated” millions of Americans in 1937. Today, Americans want to know which oligarchs and politicians were buying children from Epstein and Maxwell. Of course, Trump won’t do this because a lot of his donors and friends are involved. The fact that he’s talking about Earheart shows how desperate he’s getting which means Democrats need to keep pressing on the Epstein files. #trump #epstein

A new CNN/SSRS poll shows that 17% of Americans now identify as democratic socialists, putting them almost on par with the 18% who say they are part of the MAGA movement. The finding shows how democratic socialism, once seen as a small group in U.S. politics, is now as common an identity as MAGA or libertarianism. Among democratic socialists, support is strongest among young adults (24% of those aged 18–34), Democrats (35%), liberals (41%), and lower-income earners (21% under $50K). Black (23%) and Hispanic (19%) respondents were also more likely to identify as democratic socialists compared to White respondents (14%) The findings also reveal that Democratic Socialists have a strong base among people of color, directly contradicting establishment Democrats like Ritchie Torres, who has falsely claimed that the movement is mostly made up of well off White Americans. This poll undercuts his narrative and shows he is echoing propaganda rather than reality….but what’s new? Is this why Trump wants to dismantle all left leaning groups? Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is pushing for new rules that would force social media influencers to clearly show when they’re being paid. In a post on X, she argued that influencers should have a special badge or a different-colored verification mark if their content is sponsored. She compared it to TV and radio ads, where broadcasters have to say, “This message is brought to you by…” Greene said the same level of transparency should apply online, since many influencers are funded by political groups, corporations, or even foreign governments. In another post, Greene added: “It’s offensive to the American people that social media influencers can secretly pocket money to push propaganda without ever telling you who’s funding them. If TV and radio must disclose ‘brought to you by…,’ then influencers should too. And if they’re being paid by a foreign country, they must register under FARA. Period. Transparency matters!“ Greene is right on this point. If foreign governments are paying to shape public opinion, people deserve to know exactly where those messages are coming from. #republicans #gop #politics

On Friday, Hamas announced it is ready to release all remaining Israeli hostages, one of the biggest conditions in President Trump’s new Gaza peace proposal. In a statement shared by the White House, Hamas said it would start talks right away on how to release the hostages and would also agree to hand control of Gaza to a Palestinian led group of independents. However, the group did not accept all of the other terms in the plan. Earlier this week, Trump, backed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, unveiled a 20 point peace proposal. It calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of both Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, more humanitarian aid for Gaza, and longer term steps aimed at ending the war. Natasha Hall, a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told Al Jazeera that the real challenge lies with Israel’s “ambiguity.” She noted that Gaza is largely destroyed, with Hamas’s military leaders and negotiators killed. “Hamas is almost not an actor anymore. The issue for the United States and the international community is how much patience [they are] going to have for dealing with the other points of this plan, which are actually really essential for ending the war,” Hall said. #hamas #gaza #israel
