A very small cidery located in South London. We pick culinary apples in Kent and ferment at our maisonette in SW16. Lovers of pubs, booze and cats.
London pubs/bars/bottle shops: need cider? We have been slack on selling cider this year, but that changes TODAY. We will be doing deliveries of bag in box, cans and keykegs the next couple weeks, so get in touch if you're interested in having our cider on at your establishment!

Pre-Dulwich Hamlet match visit to Hop Burns & Black. The A&H Green hopped ale has not let me down.

Hive mind I'm going to London on Friday and then I'm considering Rye and Brighton, before I commit, and I know the season has just ended, but any thoughts on placess I can get a good selection of green hopped beers in that neck of the woods (Kent, E Sussex, London) ? #bskybeer

Trying the Monteith's cider on my way out of NZ (in the lounge) and back to London. It's ok. Too sweet for me, but nice apple flavour. Hope next time the weather is better and we can make it to Nelson.

Stuck in Christchurch for an extra day due to a state of emergency being declared due to high winds. A bit disappointed, but it does mean we could visit Renegade Brewing and catch up on 10+ yo Combat Aircraft magazines.

Two Thumb Brewing location on Manchester Street is fantastic. IPA, sour and Mexican food are on point.

Some NZ cider from Renegade Brewing at Canterbury Brewers Collective in Christchurch. Great spot. Seems like a lot of breweries produce at least one cider here. I would like to know more about this.

Off Day Brewery lager in Singapore. Decent, but worth £10.79? As it's the only beer I had there, I'll say yes.

We finished our production for the year on Saturday. Just shy of 1000 litres, which is more than we anticipated we would make. (not pictured: 300 litres of Easter Hill already racked).

Update: still shut.
This is our local that's been shut for 9 months. This signage does not fill me with confidence it's going to be a good re-opening.

Sickness has struck, but we've got 400kg of apples to get pressed today. No rest for us. At least the weather in London is nice.

We are pleased the only cider task on today's to-do list is racking this tank of Cox to another tank in preparation for pressing 300l of Bramley this weekend and next. Then, we are DONE.

Finally getting around to pressing the 300+kg of Howgate Wonder apples we picked yesterday. Coming in at a sessionable 6.5%.

We've got another 400+kg of apples in the van from yesterday, but they will likely have to hold on until next weekend.

One week after filling, these two demijohns of Cox's Orange Pippin juice are kicking off. Haven't filled these demijohns in a few years. Glad to have their company on the kitchen table for the next few months.

Pulp from last week: dumped.
Our one Howgate tree we have access to is absolutely heaving this year: picked.
Onto the other orchard to do a small pick.

We need more apple pickers from this week!🍎

We begin harvest today and are still in need of a few more pairs of hands to help us pick apples.

We pay competitively.

Today's task: ~500kg of Cox apples to press into juice.

Good evening. We've had an exemplary day picking Cox's Orange Pippin in the Easter Hill orchard. This is the best crop we've seen here in 5-6 years. ~800kg picked with apples left behind. Lovely day.

Ended up having a very long day racking cider, packaging cider and generally getting things ready for harvest. Luckily our Chinook hops are ripe in the garden so straight into the remainder of our 2024 Demons of Spill Hill racking exercise. Fresh hop season = Best season
