I decided I need a portable video server, since we travel to places with intermittent signal and limited internet.

This is a #Lenovo M90n fitting perfectly inside a VHS tape

Our newest addition to the weird at the @defconscavhunt.bsky.social table; Trauma Dump Hacker Confessional. I created the logos and glitch art that played on our “priest screen” along side installing the cloud. A late start project, so it’ll be a little more dressed up in the coming years.

A contingent of Orange County hackers descended upon the 23b Shop for a night of installing a portable Proxmox cluster with me. How else would you spend a Friday evening?

I’m also the one who came up with the idea and hacked together the hardware for the Shell On Demand Appliance (S.O.D.A) machine. A fully independent virtual machine host inside a Dixie Narco vending machine.

The software was developed by @balsa.info.
A vending machine with a rainbow of LED lights in the selection panel of nine button options. The flavors are all replaced with Virtual Machine guest operating systems. A vending machine opened to reveal a server rack vertically mounted with four Dell R630 computers that host virtual machines for the Shell On Demand Appliance (S.O.D.A.) Machine. The door has two thermal printers in the center hole originally used for removing purchase drinks. Stickers embellish the sides of the machine. A drink vending machine with green lights on the buttons. The front door signage has “Cold Drinks” in white text on a blue background is backlit. Next to the machine is five 24” LCD displays stacked on to of one another showing a user interface and vitals of the servers inside the vending machine. A thermal receipt from the Shell On Demand Appliance (S.O.D.A) machine. The text on the receipt shows the IP address and credentials to log into the virtual machine being hosted inside the vending machine.
