I truly believe trump would sacrifice 2 national guard troops to be able to claim martial law. Just as I believe it's truly possible he deliberately sacrificed one of his followers to stage an assassination attempt. I don't even think that's conspiracy thinking at this point.

Trump was gleeful that the National Guardsman were attacked, he’s been trying to place them in harms way for months for his cheap theatrics. For him it was opportune that military personnel would come under fire as a growing number of US veterans are becoming vocal against him.
