I've become allergic to my childhood boxer in recent years. Naturally that means I've been popping a Benadryl daily while home for the holidays. I could just refuse the old girl's love, but I love her cuddles too so I just cope with it.

I bought some mushrooms at the farmers’ market on Broadway today. They are called “wishi” in the Cherokee language. You may know them better by their Japanese name “maitake” or the English “hen-of-the-woods.” I’m excited to share them with my Cherokee professor tomorrow!
