Today we harvested many olive trees in Ramallah. Wothout Israeli and international volunteers, the Palestinian farmers are prohibited from harvesting their own orchards. This is their livelihood, and we stand in solidarity with them.

Yesterday, I joined a human rights group in Ramallah, the Occupied West Bank, to help Palestinian farmers harvest their olive trees. Then settlers arrived with guns, backed by the IDF, threatened us, and forced us out of the orchard. Violence is surging in the West Bank.

A question to my Joycean/Modernist colleagues: when H.G. Wells say that "Like Swift and another living Irish writer, Mr. Joyce has a cloacal obsession", who is the other "living Irish writer"? Apologies if the answer is obvious and I am exposing my ignorance.

I joined Rabbis for Human Rights in the Occupied West Bank to help the Palestinian communities plant olive trees. Criminal Jewish settlers often uproot trees to hurt the Palestinian fatmers' livelihood. So we come to show solidarity and help with whatever we can.
