Understanding the cause of recurrent #vivax malaria infections is key to evaluate treatment efficacy & describe transmission dynamics.

This work began in 2019 during my PhD, with the help of @drshaziaruybal.bsky.social. After navigating a pandemic, finishing my PhD, and changing labs, I am pleased to share our work on a modest #ampseq panel for #P.vivax. This panel is designed to facilitate molecular corrections in clinical trials

Current efforts in malaria modelling and pop gen are largely separate endeavors due to complexities of the parasites’ genetics.

Here we review advances to understand strain hyperdiversity with potential to link these processes.
