Understanding the cause of recurrent #vivax malaria infections is key to evaluate treatment efficacy & describe transmission dynamics.

Excited to see this important work out where use genomic & analytical tools to explore this, always a pleasure to work with my good friend @jjrosados.bsky.social
This work began in 2019 during my PhD, with the help of @drshaziaruybal.bsky.social. After navigating a pandemic, finishing my PhD, and changing labs, I am pleased to share our work on a modest #ampseq panel for #P.vivax. This panel is designed to facilitate molecular corrections in clinical trials

Current efforts in malaria modelling and pop gen are largely separate endeavors due to complexities of the parasites’ genetics.

Here we review advances to understand strain hyperdiversity with potential to link these processes.

Super excited to see this out✨

In an increasingly divided world, “our call to action is both urgent and critical: join us in protecting global health and the partnerships that sustain it.”

Proud to have been a small part of this powerful collaborative opinion piece

What an amazing talk by @drshaziaruybal.bsky.social about the community-led project PGEforge, an open-access & central repo for tool landscaping, software standards, tutorials & analysis workflows!
I’m inspired by the power of #hackathons & look forward to the future of this project! #rstats #coding
🚨✨Happening now! Join us to learn more about PGEforge and see the application of epidemiological methods using R in action! Meet up link in the comments ✨ #RLadies #Genomics #Malaria

Really looking forward to connecting with my fellow @rladiesmelb.bsky.social 💜

I’ll be talking about some of my recent work and the exciting results of a big community effort through the Plasmodium genomic epidemiology (PlasmoGenEpi) network! Tune in this Thursday ✨
