Today, as I left an early childhood ed event in SF on Black kids & families, a white guy in a car leaving the golf course next door yelled “ICE!” and laughed when I looked. Still sitting w/ it. BIPOC communities have faced this cruelty for generations. Latinos are just today’s most visible target.

We need the best educated workforce in the world.

We need the best teachers in the world.

We need to pay our teachers fairly for the important work they do.

No teacher in America should begin at less than $60,000 a year.

Workers are not asking to get rich. They just want to afford three meals a day.

In the richest country in the history of the world, no one should work for starvation wages.

It is time to raise the disgraceful $7.25/hr federal minimum wage to a living wage of AT LEAST $17/hr.

Absolutely agree! I earned my B.A. and Master’s degrees at top universities in South America without paying a single penny. Education should be a right, not a privilege. It is a public investment in our collective future! #highered
In a competitive global economy, we need the best educated workforce in the world - doctors, nurses, dentists, plumbers, welders, electricians, etc.

Young people should not have to go deeply into debt to get the education they and our nation need.

We must make public colleges tuition free.
