#Exudates decrease strongly during #plantdevelopment and #metabolome shifts from diverse, sugar-dominated to secondary exudates. Fast-growth genotypes exude root establishing, slow-growth more defensive compounds. See our paper with @drmicrowill.bsky.social and the Bauerle lab.
