A couple years ago, I was diagnosed by a neurologist with migraine syndrome after a bout of confusion and difficulty speaking, along with a visual band of sparkling lights. The thing that really blew my mind (pun!) was that he asked if I got headaches without being sick, just from fatigue or stress.

Denmark is a great country to visit, and especially so for Americans new to international travel. Everyone can speak English, breakfast and dinner times and sizes are what you'd expect at home, it's easy to get anywhere on public transit, but you still get the experience of a very old intact culture

I'm flying to Denmark for work on Saturday and people keep acting like I must be excited for it, but, like... home is pretty nice in December? Give me a quiet day with a mug of very good pourover coffee.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Yes, stances are ethical.

But if we want change, ethical stances must have power. That is political.

One can be right and criticize others who aren’t, sure. And that is important. But then what? How do we flourish? We need to help the right thing win, and good people build. Electoral or not

I don't know Gabe Newell, but saying that "just" making a great game to finish the story would be "cheating" is a real self-important savior-complex thing to say. www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/my...
'My personal failure was being stumped': Gabe Newell says finishing Half-Life 2: Episode 3 just to conclude the story would've been 'copping out of [Valve's] obligation to gamers'
Half-Life 3: Episode 3 never happened because Newell "couldn't figure out why doing Episode 3 was pushing anything forward."
