Dr Johnson's House
@drjohnsonshouse.bsky.social
Quirky historic house tucked away in central London. 18th-century interiors & a good supply of dictionaries. Open Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday & Sat 11am - 5pm
This Remembrance Day, we honour the courage of those who served, on the front line and here at home.
During the Blitz, Dr Johnson’s House became a refuge for the Firemen’s Club, whose members faced London’s flames night after night.

GHOST. n.s. [gast, Saxon.]

1. The soul of man.

2. A spirit appearing after death.

In 1762, the Cock Lane Ghost supposedly haunted a young girl in London. Even Dr Johnson investigated—but was it a restless spirit or something more mysterious?👻

The house is lovely just to visit and the events are wonderful. I went to the gin tasting and Georgian history talk last night and it was terrific. Would recommend!
