A few years ago, I sponsored a proviso that created this department. We have to save lives and this is what it is all about. I’m calling all of my law makers who say they want to end the violence epidemic in South Carolina to attend this event.

RIP to a trailblazer! A true son of SC. A man who's shoulders I stand on today. A civil rights icon for all people. I was honored to not only have met him, spoken with him, marched with & in this image, pray with him. This is a moment that I will cherish forever. RIP Reverend Jackson, job well done.

Public health is a shared responsibility. There is a current measles outbreak in South Carolina and we must take this seriously. Use science backed info. Even vaccinated people in some cases can contract measles from an unvaccinated person. Let's do what's right for all South Carolinians. #NewSC
