Hi 👋 in a former life I was a PhD student exploring #millennial #loneliness. My day job now is in #policy #skills and #economicgrowth (but more of that on LinkedIn 🤣) which is gr8, but I do miss my old research. So here I am 💁‍♀️ ready to engage on all things loneliness ~ connection ~ belonging etc.
Yikes send help 🙈 this is my first time writing anything ‘academic’ in a long time. Just squeezing in book chapter writing while my daughter is at dancing 🫠🫠🫠🆘🆘

I have excellent availability for February and March, and I’m still able to offer a 10% discount if you book during these months. Transcription, proofreading, closed caption editing, note taking, or any other miscellaneous word-processing type work.
On that note, as the start of a new year can be tough going for freelance work, I am offering a 10% discount on all transcription, proofreading, closed caption and note-taking work booked in from now until the end of March.

How exciting that after about a decade of having email alerts for “geography” and “loneliness”, I get an email about my own paper! 🥹 it may be cringe to be so excited but this may be my first and last paper 🤣🤣

So happy to share that my first ever paper has been published! This paper explores maternal geographies and is based on the work I did with Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art 👶✨
Lockdown babies: Exploring the maternal geographies and care spaces of birthing and mothering during Covid-19 in Gateshead and Newcastle, UK
This paper draws on research carried out alongside Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art’s project ‘20 Babies’. Launched in September 2021, Baltic brought together 20 families from Newcastle and Gates...

In the process of removing myself from “the other place” so I’m sharing this report I authored a while ago on the most beautiful project at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art ❤️👶

This is ahead of my 1st publication in a journal which will (hopefully?) be out soon 🤞🤞

Thx to the @austerityalters.bsky.social for inviting me to contribute to this important series.

Proud to have my blog “There’s nothing concrete around here”; Loneliness and (in)security in austere times’ nestled among some thought-provoking work.

My first post on here 💙🦋

Sharing my findings and recs from my PhD (which feels a million years ago 😱) but it’s nice to have a space to link back to my academic past life. If you’re interested in loneliness, this paper provides practical and policy recs #loneliness
