the irony - you teach about inclusion in education/ health care, you're studying a module on inclusive practice, yet the academic support agency you use can't even get someone to cover

Absolutely this - so frustrating as a hearing implant recipient to have to explain to others about why the microphone is needed!
#1000SmallThings to help create a more inclusive HE: when someone says "Oh I don't need the microphone, I've got a loud voice" IMMEDIATELY protest this.

Today is #IDPWD2024 it's a day to recognise + celebrate diversity. There is still a long way to go until we gain complete equality, but remember please don't actively avoid people with disabilities, or patronise, instead speak to us, include us within your lives. Be kind, always!
