I feel like a lot of different people learn in very different ways.. I was taught the repetition learning method growing up and through schooling, but it wasn't until I watched Feng Zhu's FZD content waaay back that I started to understand intelligent learning. #art #study #artists #learning

You see videos and content creators who will de-motivate artist from repetition learning e.g (Draw 100 heads, Draw 100 hands.. etc) and although intelligent practice is a more efficient method.. ALL ART IS GOOD ART. I've seen reptition learners do incredible in art.. #art #study #artists #learning

I have a million stories about University to dive into if people are interested though, I feel like now there's so much accessibility in terms of online training that Uni doesn't have to be your only option. If you want to go, hell yeh, I support you, but I also want you to be aware <3 #art #artist

The module teachings were almost always given via a presentation that ended with "Go look at this artist's tutorials on youtube and watch THIS artist's explanation on how to do THIS thing", which yeh, you can just sit at home and do for free honestly, which a lot of people realised.. #art #artist

At my Uni there was a huge focus on the internal art struggle fighting with your peers being a GOOD thing, because it bred competitive strive to do better and beat them to the limited job opportunities available out there, this led to a LOOTTT of burn out/mental health decline.. #art #artist

Not to say that everyone will have that same experience with their chosen art course at University, though I feel like there's a few things I could talk about from a personal experience that would be good things to think about in the long run as a young growing artist.. #art #artist

Looking back through life a bit, I realised that the height of my fun and enjoyment towards the art journey peaked back in college.. I wouldn't say that I regret going to University.. BUUUT honestly with my personal experience, I feel like it was a big debt sink with little pay off.. #art #artist
