I have deep issues with the lack of objection by Republican leadership to the authoritarian thrusts being made by the current administration. In 1933 Einstein took issue with “the utter failure of the so-called intellectual aristocracy.” to address the rise of the Third Reich.
Someone, … anyone?

It’s reported that Trump is raising the already inappropriate tariff on Canada by 10% because of a TV ad run during the World Series. This vain little boy who was elected president is an embarrassment to all of us. He has no idea about how to act responsibly in the most powerful position on earth.

I reread the Preamble this morning. Nowhere among the elevated goals of a superior culture did I find: protection of wealth for a select few; the elimination of those with differences; removing the support of health care, education, and economic security for all; the use of the military against us.

@pirates.com

I’m new here on the Pirates posts. I have a nickname for Paul Skenes. I don’t know how to suggest it, so here it goes.

The Assassin.

Thanks!

It is really embarrassing that an illiterate, mentally handicapped goomer is representing us today in a global forum. I hope the world understands that this will be a temporary problem. Not only does he think he is a medical genius, now he’s a military genius too. He is so embarrassing, sorry world.

Senator Mullen from Oklahoma. What the hell is wrong with you? Defend Kirk‘s right to speak, but not what he said. The points you were making add to the authoritarian takeover of our country. You know it and everyone else does too. How can you be silent about that? You know senator, you know.

Watching CNBC this morning, where business journalists are providing commentary on immunization strategy. It’s utter nonsense that journalists & others of their ilk, including politicians, provide comment & direction for immunization. That should be left to Dr. Hotez, Dr. Patel and others like them.

3 marriages. 27 accusations of sexual abuse. The Access tape. E Jeans case. The felony convictions. Most believed all along - where there smoke there’s fire. And now the Epstein birthday book?
His whole life has been abusive of others, selfish, constant lies, cheating, deceit, and self promotion.

We live in the time when science can provide answers to our health, environmental, and world economic issues. The leading force to drive these efforts is America. However, American leadership is denying science the chance to solve problems. It is staggering to realize what we are doing, just crazy.

Trump is irresponsible by nearly every measure of leadership. He is driven by personal goals which, in turn, reflect his petty ego. He is a liar and is disrespectful to our laws and values. He should not be trusted as an American, let alone as President. The sooner this episode passes, the better.

The one significant issue for me. Ru has about 1/30th of the economic clout of the Western Alliance. The only agent preventing the west from burring them is Trump. The word agent is used descriptively. Macron should tell him to sit down and shut up, then lead the west to end this hostile Ru action.

“Hey Vlad.”
“Ya Don?”
“How about a visit so these people will bug me about something other than Epstine”
“ Sure, if you give me Ukraine.”

Thinking about Trump‘s desire to win a Nobel peace prize. He’s a convicted felon, and accused sexual predator, a liar, and a self aggrandizing fool. And now that he has invited an international criminal to the United States and legitimized his status in the world the answer has to be -
HELL NO!
August 15, 2025 at 6:45 PM
The idiot invited an international criminal to the US to conspire on how to divide Ukraine. He is a total embarrassment. His admiration of Putin has distorted his ability to lead in America’s best interests. It only about him once again.
August 15, 2025 at 1:21 AM
45 is not a peacemaker. He is a criminal, an abusive tyrant, an accused sexual predator, a bigot, and a self aggrandizing liar. I’m embarrassed to be represented by this clown. Watch the American embarrassment give Putin what he wants next week and sell our alley in a big pompous show of nothing.

The independence of the Department of Justice is critical to the success of our democracy. The compromises placed on the DOJ by Trump clearly indicate that the end of democracy is his goal. Today’s meeting of DOJ leadership with White House officials conflicts w tradition and our democratic values.

The convict has made all federal workers (those who still have a job) and most whose businesses interact with federal agencies return to work five days a week. With modern technology, this is unnecessary in many cases. Let’s not forget the disgusting, golf cheater isn’t in his office most days.
August 3, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Let this register…. Trump was told in May that his name is included in the Epstein files. Since then he has been lying and covering his tracks so that the information doesn’t come out.
He is unfit to be president. He is a convicted criminal and must be prosecuted for his many other crimes.

Joe, have coffee w homan again this morning? You were so gracious and kind yesterday. Didn’t want to get Donnie angry?
You know what is going on and what the issues are, yet you sidestepped those topics. Political stance ahead of democracy and courage Joe? We saw it.

Scarborough almost apologetically asking Tom Holman a question about masked unidentified ICE officers. 45 and his authoritarian, gestapo, hinchman are acting in an American manner. Joe often criticizes those who bend a knee to this wannabe king, but he deflects. Remember the MAL visit? Com’on Joe!!

As this fiasco of an administration continues to flounder it becomes clearer that unprincipled leadership based on personal loyalty to a clown offers no advantage or promise to anyone. Most who supported this joke should now see the consequences of vacant promises. I hope we get through this charade

America was the ethical, moral leader of the free world. Now the Christian conservative takeover of the country has left us shedding our morals. We are being cruel to those most helpless, reneging on universal responsibilities, and avoiding long time roles others depend on & a lying felon leads us.

Palestinian Khalil was released. I defend his right to speak, but I do not agree with what he is saying. That boundary needs to be guarded.
Has Israel gone too far? The Palestinian people permitted, if not supported, Hamas to conduct the attack. We should reject his logic, but protect his rights.

While watching “The West”, Kevin Costner said the Lewis and Clark Expedition took photographers with them (near the beginning of episode 2). I wonder what other errors are in the documentary? Evidently, Doris Kearns wasn’t as involved as I had hoped.

A stark reality arrived at my doorstep today, as unnerving a concept as I have ever fathomed: the President of The United States of America represents none of the values and traditions that have guided my entire life. I have no other way to express it, Trump is the enemy.
