What classic film made you fall in love with old movies?
For me, it was Singin’ In The Rain! I love how playful it is and how comfortable they were with poking fun at the absurdity of early Hollywood, and the chaos of the silents-to-talkies transition.

Before there was the El Capitan on Hollywood Boulevard, there was an El Capitan on Vine Street. The top pic shows a variety show there in 1948.
The venue opened in 1927 as the Hollywood Playhouse, changing names over the years, eventually becoming The Palace and now Avalon.
