My youngest, a freshman at my university, just got campus library job. I joked that I have an ILL book that’s three months overdue (which is true), and they straight up ratted me out. The library fuzz are now breathing down my neck.

What should have been a quick oil change in preparation for my upcoming 2000 mile mountain motorcycle extravaganza hit a snag in the form of pinhole leaks in my cheapo oil recycling tub.
But now the dinosaurs have been returned to their cages, & we launch on Friday.

Yesterday, I sat in a committee meeting, had a paper rejected, prepped for finals, secured some funding, admitted some grad students, wrote some marketing copy, celebrated our salutatorian (ed major!), revised a chapter proposal, & had dinner with a monk. A pretty normal day.

Two firsts this week. I submitted my first fiction manuscript for publication, and I received my first rejection letter for a fiction manuscript.
