Great to present my work on ableism and disablism in football today as part of the UAOA Combatting Online Abuse in Sports Webinar Series. Interesting debate followed the presentation, particularly around ableist language and online hate. More info here: unitedagainstonlineabuse.com/webinar-seri...

But it doesn't make sense when you consider what a citation means. 1/

Bluesky academics, lets get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren’t working on but keep thinking about.

1. Visually impaired people's experiences of football fandom + online ableist hate speech in sport.
2. Neoliberal ableism.

Twitter's like playing a Premier League team in the FA Cup - still a big deal, bit of a pain in the bum, and you're not entirely sure all these people are genuine.

BlueSky's like an #oufc away day - nobody knows what they're doing, but everybody's excited to be there and you recognise everyone.
