I wanted to take some time and remind everyone to #MakeNephrologySexyAgain here in the butterfly app too

IgnNobel prizes are coming!! I'm so excited for this year's winners, maybe a Nephrology award soon?

Also, I've just found out we can get tickets to meet de winners face-to-face, even in Europe! I might be fangirling too much but I love this idea

And since we are in Austria, Jennifer Lees showed us the big four of Vienna, only in #ERA25, always being #BeyondNephrology:

Honestly blown away by this concept. I really love the idea of including our patients even in scientific meetings. Open communication is key for a good patient-doctor relationship

It's time to put the patients on our focus, and what better way to do it than including them in one of the congress sessions?
Nurse, nephrologist, surgeon, radiologist and the patients, all in one spot, to solve our patient's questions.

On a side note, I'm really glad for the opportunity I had, alongside a fellow @vasyoungcom.bsky.social member, for moderating a session at #VAS2025 with Loreto Gesualdo, the origin of N-PATH

As a summary, high flux AVF (>1.5L/min):
-⬇️carotid, renal, gut, capillaries and aortic flows
-⬆️coronary, cardiac output and pulmonary artery pressure.

As a result, a high-flux AVF can be dangerous in moderate-severe heart failure patients

Article of the month📣 Interesting retrospective cohort study from Japan🤔! Showing that femoro-femoral arteriovenous fistulas can be a viable and durable option when traditional access points are no longer feasible!
