Edaeron is very independent, which reads as if he's aloof or uninterested in getting to know people.
But really he's just spent so much time by himself that he doesn't have that ability to be vulnerable because he's always been on his own.

Each Ailithyian city has an order of knights. Their main goal is to protect the city from monsters, but they also help the locals; usually new pages or squires end up with those tasks.
