Just watched the first two episodes of Finding Her Edge on Netflix.
Ice dancing. Teen romance. Canadian cast.

Yes and it’s not how the world uses email but then my older teens are terrible at checking it already so maybe it’ll be obsolete soon

TDSB is moving to student numbers instead of names for email “privacy.”
I didn’t see any parent consultation.

How many of us can remember a number to email?
And where is that actually used in real life?
🤦‍♀️

Many people assume vulval pain is common and untreatable.
It isn’t. Evidence-based care exists — and it should be more accessible.

Ontario update: later this year, NIPT will be publicly funded to determine fetal Rh status.
This means RhIG can be given only to those who need it, rather than routinely to all Rh-negative patients.
A meaningful step toward more precise pregnancy care. www.instagram.com/reel/DTaud-f...

If you had a period in your life where you wore scrunchies all the time you might be my age. Or at least you should know that scrunchies were invented when I was a kid. Did or do you love them?

Good to know. When I tried it years ago no one was there. Now it just seems like…chaos but I’m going to try it

Hi. Nice to “see” you here. I’ve been quieter and spending more time on Instagram/Facebook with patient education but this type of app is still appealing for “conversation”

More and more people are cancelling or delaying recommended LEEP procedures — often out of fear or misinformation.
That’s concerning.
These treatments exist to prevent cervical cancer, and timing matters.

Medical exams can feel vulnerable — especially when you’re undressed.
That feeling is valid.
Care should always be respectful and dignified.

Birth control pills can contribute to genital pain for some people — something I didn’t learn in OB-GYN training.
Details + nuance here 👇 www.instagram.com/reel/DTDLOzA...

Here’s something I didn’t learn in training — and honestly didn’t want to believe at first:For some people, combined oral contraceptive pills can contribute to pain with intimacy. Why this can happen:• Combined pills lower free androgens• Some people appear more sensitive to androgen changes• Small studies show differences in androgen receptor expression• We don’t currently have a clinical test to predict who this will affectA very common story I hear:Pain-free intimacy → starts the pill → months or years later develops pain.Stopping the pill alone is often not enough. In some cases, topical estrogen + testosterone for several months (sometimes longer) is needed to help restore tissue health. This doesn’t happen to everyone. And birth control pills are still an excellent option for many. But if this is your experience —the pain is not in your head. It’s real, and it deserves proper care.Educational only — not medical advice.Follow @drselkdownthere for evidence-based women’s health — without dismissal or myths.Save or share if this helps someone feel less alone.#WomensHealth#OBGYN#BirthControl#PelvicHealth#HealthEducation

Midlife sleep is wild enough… add alcohol and it gets even messier.
I broke down the ‘why’ over on IG. www.instagram.com/p/DS-IC00DnP...

Midlife hormones change how the body processes alcohol — especially its impact on sleep. This isn’t medical advice, and it’s not an endorsement of drinking. It’s simply physiology.Alcohol disrupts sleep in everyone (men and women) by reducing REM and increasing night waking —hello 3am. But in midlife women, perimenopause and menopause add extra layers: hot flashes, temperature swings, and neurotransmitter shifts that make alcohol’s sleep disruption feel more intense.Timing, dose, and alcohol content all matter.Understanding this isn’t about judgment — it’s about having clear information so you can make choices that work for you.If sleep is a struggle, this may be one piece of the puzzle. #MidlifeHealth#SleepScience#Perimenopause#WomensHealthEducation#DrSelkDownThereHave you noticed alcohol affects your sleep differently in midlife?View all comments

Topical steroids don’t cause weight gain, hormonal chaos, or “spread into your whole body” when used for vulvar skin conditions.
Those are myths — but they’re everywhere.

What does cause problems?
Undertreating real disease.

Your pelvic floor isn’t just about “squeezing.”
Breathing, strength training, and estrogen support all matter.
Pelvic physios = essential.
