Opinion | I Have Never Been More Afraid for My Country’s Future
Trump’s worldview is stuck in the 1970s, and his whole administration is a cruel farce.

More proof this is the dumbest president to ever hold office. First he pisses off 90% of the businesses in the country with mindless tariffs. Then he picks a fight with China, as if they need us more than we need them. Now he's going after Harvard, the alma mater of the richest and most powerful.

So Musk says DOGE will only save $150bln, which means more like $20bln really, and the tariffs will cost low and middle class how many trillions, all so Trump can give the 1% a $4.5 trillion tax cut? Eventually, his supporters will catch on, right?
April 11, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Ah yes, time to see how Fox will spin this. Yep, there it is, Trump, the KING of the deal makers! Just such an embarrassment that 40% of the country is stupid enough to believe this nonsense. Reminder that Fox kept tariffs and the economy off the front page completely for the past week until now.

And then remember that Republicans already made SS insolvent by stealing money from it to make past budgets look better. Now they're going to use the insolvency as justification for killing it.

Not cheering for doom but absolutely no reason for the market to bounce. If anything, it should decline further on the China vs Trump ego battle over who can do the biggest tariff. Also a reminder that the market is just a game and yesterday's fake bounce on a rumor was just more proof of that.
April 8, 2025 at 3:01 PM
So add tariffs that are effectively a 10-20% tax of on the lower and middle class and then use the proceeds to justify a $4.5trln tax cut for just the wealthy? Did I get that right? At some point the cult of Trump is going to crack and collapse, right? RIGHT?

What I read: In two years, the house and senate will shift enough to impeach and remove Trump from office. Zero chance this moronic crap makes it to June. House and Senate will act and it will drive a wedge between GOP congress and Trump with him blaming them for all that goes wrong.

If you're wondering why more MAGA fans haven't turned on Trump yet, this is why. Unlike what most think, Fox News doesn't lie and instead only shows them the news that helps their narrative. Talking about the tariffs or worst stock market crash or businesses going under doesn't help sell the lie.
April 5, 2025 at 10:52 AM
Wow. I was wondering what those made up "Tariff" numbers were on Trump's chart to justify his insane tariff numbers. Well, here you go. This is really who is running the country right now. :(

This feels like a headline that they will be able to reuse over and over again for the next 4 years...

Reminder that Trump has always been bad at business. He is also too lazy to go to meetings and too arrogant to listen to experts. This term the only criteria to be his advisor is that you just say YES, no matter what. This is the result, massive amounts of chaos around the world for no benefit.

So Trump just announced that Elon will be stepping down in the next few weeks. I had start of May for him to implode on my bingo card but I'll take start of April instead. Seriously though, someone needs to have an intervention with Musk and get him some real help. Not joking, he needs mental help.

All headlines should be this direct and honest.

My daughter watched and cheered as Booker broke the old racist white guy's record for the longest speech. I love that she was able to witness history being made and was informed enough to understand the significance of him erasing the other guy from the history books.

Musk spent $19 mln of his own money trying to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and they still lost. Dear GOP congress, you have from now until the 2026 election to grow a spine, or you're going to get slaughtered. Even with the unpopularity of Democrats now, people still refused to let him win.

Tax revenue will plummet this year and next. IRS gutted by an unelected oligarch to let the wealthy get back to cheating on taxes PLUS agreeing to give undocumented taxpayers information to the DHS. Zero chance undocumented workers (MILLIONS) pay taxes going forward, they paid $96.7bln last year.

Tomorrow is judgement day for congress. Trump is going close the education department by executive order. If congress is going to stand up to him and not give up their Constitution granted powers to a wanna be dictator, they have to act tomorrow or never.
March 19, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Trump is currently at war against the judicial branch of government and why wouldn't he be since the highest court in the land said he is completely immune to any consequences? It still stuns me that conservatives were so short-sighted and tribal that they couldn't see the long-term effects of it.
March 18, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Remember when Trump promised to only be a dictator on day 1? Just another broken campaign promise. Today's dictator watch is him ignoring the judicial branch which his unelected crony pushes to impeach judges. Also, he just declared by edict that all Biden pardons were null and void. Long 4 years.
March 17, 2025 at 2:11 PM
The past month has been a reminder that Trump only appeared slightly competent in his first term because he had semi-qualified people around him. Now he is surrounded with incompetent loyalist who just say "YES SIR!" and it shows. This is on the GOP for rubber stamping them all, no matter how bad.
March 11, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Another week, another 3-4 point drop in the polls for Trump. Sadly, we're stuck with this horrible president for another 3.9 years despite his having lied his way into office. Fortunately, his loyalists in congress are only loyal as they think it will benefit them, which isn't much longer.
March 10, 2025 at 5:52 PM
What is the Vegas over/under line for how long before Trump throws Musk under the bus and dismantles DOGE? 6 weeks? 2 months? We know it is going to happen when even his tribal supporters catch on and numbers are cratering. Not like Trump will take responsibility for anything that goes wrong.
March 6, 2025 at 4:50 PM
6 weeks in and GDP down, unemployment up, uncertainty up, consumer confidence down, stock market down, standing in the world down, inflation up, ability of the government to function down but actual waste in the government up (employees are 4% of cost and manage the other 96%), did I get that right?
March 6, 2025 at 4:48 PM
Can we please have this Elon Musk back? The one before he went completely nuts, got into conspiracy theories and flat out lying, and seemed like a decent guy?
