My dad's 1970 proposal to put the ERIC research database online. Today, 55 years later, I use it for my research, but probably not for long. @jillbarshay.bsky.social reports that ERIC will stop being updated this week after DOGE cut its budget, and it may fold completely. What a sad, terrible waste.
