Our continued callous treatment of Native Americans reminds me of Lionel Barrymore's character in "Key Largo" when he says, "Seems like we can't do anything but hurt these people, even when we try and help them."

ICYMI: The Trump administration took down a congressionally mandated report on missing and murdered Native Americans from the Department of Justice’s website to comply with an executive order against diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Trump signs an executive order blocking state AI regulation, and suddenly the states’ rights crowd goes silent. Gee, I wonder what could’ve caused that?

Bye-bye, Chiefs, and the Pats return to the kids' table. And I say that as a Pats fan.

Smithereens frontman Pat DiNizio, October 12, 1955 – December 12, 2017. I worked a Smithereens show back in college, and you couldn’t find a nicer group of guys. They took time out to chat, and I had the chance to talk with Pat about Buddy Holly and a record store we both used to frequent.

Sam Cooke (January 22, 1931 - December 11, 1964). A box set of Cooke's was titled "The Man Who Invented Soul." While there are others that could also make a stake to that claim, there is no doubt he was an influence on everyone in the genre (and many others) that came after him.

Saying Trump scrapes the bottom of the barrel is almost too generous—he goes for what’s beneath it.

METV is airing the "M*A*S*H" finale, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen." I remember watching as a family. My dad, who served in the Korean War, rarely spoke about his experiences. I’ll never forget, though, the moment when Klinger decides to stay in Korea and my dad smirks, quietly muttering, "Bullshit."
