So I was messing around with Callipeg mini for iPhone and it is possible to create simple sprite animations, though you really need to adjust the sprite size before importing. Naturally, I recreated one of my favourite skits in 8 bit, though still needs some tweaking.

Ever tried Callipeg? This is what I was able to make with Callipeg on mobile phone in the first 15 min using the app. Might be a good alternative to Toonsquid, but need more time with it.

Trying to get this refraction effect working for a foreground element was even harder, but I am happy with the result. Unfortunately it leads to a bit of lag during playback, but it‘s worth the effort.

Recreating the refraction effect in the background using Toonsquid was a daunting task, but I think I cracked the code. It looks more or less convincing. Now to do the same with the foreground (even harder).

Caterkiller crawls around so it‘s rather difficult to animate this with a simple motion tween. Best to just reposotion the symbol after each cycle. Tedious but the movement looks solid afterwards.
